Everybody loves a good comeback story, and that’s certainly the case for the Wagoneer nameplate. It was first used for a full-size SUV from 1963 to 1991 as well as for a compact SUV from 1984 to 1990, and briefly as a midsize SUV in 1993, which was the final year the nameplate was used by the brand… until the 2022 model year when it made its shocking, triumphant return to the lineup as the full-size SUV we know and love today. Now just a couple of years old the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer is also available as an extended wheelbase variant called the Wagoneer L, and we have both versions of the vehicle for sale right here at Jim Glover CDJRF in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
There was only one change for the Wagoneer this year, and none for the Wagoneer L as it was just added to the lineup last year for 2023. The change is that now every single Wagoneer – and Wagoneer L, for that matter – is powered by the Hurricane Twin Turbo I-6 engine that’s capable of generating up to 420 horsepower alongside 468 pound-feet of torque. As an I-6 engine, this incredible power plant not only delivers that outstanding amount of power, but it’s up to 15% more efficient than most larger V8 engines that tend to deliver around the same amount.
So, we’ve mentioned that the Wagoneer L is an extended wheelbase variant of the regular Wagoneer, but what exactly does that mean? Well, for the best explanation, watch the following video in which Jared Glover walks you through an explanation of the Wagoneer L and what exactly it is. But if you’d rather just see the numbers, there are three dimensions in which the Wagoneer L is larger or offers more than the Wagoneer.
2024 Jeep Wagoneer | vs | 2024 Jeep Wagoneer L |
123.0 in. | Wheelbase | 130.0 in. |
214.7 in. | Overall Length | 226.7 in. |
27.4 cu. ft. | Rear Cargo Capacity | 42.0 cu. ft. |
As you can see, these are the main differences between the two models, and the reason we call it an extended length variant. That extra length obviously gives you more room for your cargo, which is a big advantage for those who often need to carry around a lot of stuff.
The Wagoneer is available in four different trim levels, with each one being available in both the standard wheelbase as well as the extended wheelbase, AKA the Wagoneer L. The highlights we’ve included for each trim are the same regardless of which wheelbase you choose, but the images we’ve included here are of the standard Wagoneer, just so you know. If you have any further questions regarding the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer or Jeep Wagoneer L, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us right here at Jim Glover CDJRF.
