Many enthusiasts were worried a couple years ago when Dodge announced it would be discontinuing both of its iconic muscle cars in one fell swoop, but the diehards knew it would be temporary — and they were quickly rewarded for their trust. Because it didn’t take long at all for the legendary performance brand to introduce one of those models’ successor: the Dodge Charger Daytona. This new version of the old icon is a battery electric vehicle that is helping the muscle car evolve into what’s next.

There are a ton of exciting specs and features to discuss when looking at the 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona EV, but today we’re going to focus on one specific area in which we think the true fans will be very interested. The new Charger Daytona offers a bevy of different performance modes that drivers can choose to engage, completely changing and optimizing various vehicle settings for a given scenario. Today we’re going to highlight these different modes to show you just what the Daytona EV is capable of doing.

We would be remiss if we didn’t at least highlight the incredible technical specifications present in the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive electric powertrain that powers the 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona EV. Both the R/T and Scat Pack versions of the vehicle feature a 400-volt, dual-motor propulsion system capable of delivering instant torque, which is a game changer for performance. The R/T models can produce up to 496 horsepower alongside 404 pound-feet of torque, while Scat Pack models deliver an incredible 670 hp and 627 lb-ft.

The other available add-on, this mode is also for people who like to hit the track, but for straightaways rather than full closed courses. These special modes aren’t all just about going as fast as possible, and there are other ways to have fun in performance vehicles. That’s where Drift/Donut Mode comes into play, as it automatically switches the propulsion system into rear-wheel drive mode and completely powers off the Electronic Stability Control system. Sport Mode comes standard with the vehicle, so it’s going to be the go-to setting for drivers who like performance but don’t necessarily want to hit the track to experience it. Triggering this mode will tighten steering, quicken throttle input and adjust the delivery of torque for a more aggressive driving experience. Lastly, there is of course Custom Mode, for those tinkerers out there confident enough to formulate their own drive mode to which they’d like to return.
