The automotive landscape as a whole over the past few years has gotten dustier and dirtier — by which we mean off-road vehicles are growing incredibly and increasingly popular. While Jeep vehicles continue to dominate the hearts and minds of enthusiasts across the globe, there are plenty of other contenders stepping up and showing who’s boss.
For example, RAM recently introduced us to the 2025 RAM 1500 RHO, a high-performance, off-road-oriented variant of its iconic big-three pickup truck. Packed full of cutting-edge technology and even more of that rugged durability one would expect from a RAM pickup. Today we’re going to highlight some of the truck’s specs & features and highlight a new option that might excite true fans and enthusiasts.
Powertrain & Performance
For years, RAM has built up its reputation for producing some of the toughest, strongest pickup trucks on the market. The 2025 RHO is no exception, in fact it’s perhaps the toughest RAM truck available this year, thanks to its nature as a high-performance, off-road model. Previously, this slot was filled by the TRX model, but 2024 was the end of that nameplate as it has been replaced by the all-new, superior RHO model. Here are some examples of why its powertrain and performance are so incredible:
- 3.0L Hurricane High Output Straight-Six Turbo (H/O SST) engine
- 540 horsepower, 521 pound-feet of torque
- 0-60 miles per hour in 4.6 seconds; 0-100 mph in 11.7 s; quarter mile at 105 mph in 13.1 s
- Top speed of 105 mph
- 8,380 pounds of maximum towing capacity; 1,520 lbs. max payload
Off-Road Capabilities & Features
Naturally, the powertrain and performance specifications lay the groundwork for any good pickup truck worth its salt, but now we’re going to dive into some of the features and technologies that truly enhance the RHO’s off-road capabilities.
- High-flow air induction system; featuring hood duct
- Unique exhaust system; featuring Sport Tune low-restriction system, true dual pipes
- BorgWarner 48-13 full-time active transfer case; low range of 2.64:1
- Completely unique off-road, long-travel suspension system; featuring high-strength forged aluminum control arms
- Bilstein Blackhawk e2 adaptive shocks
- Dual Electronic Proportional Valves
- Dana 60 rear axle; featuring full floating axle shafts
- Rear electronic locking differential
- 11.8 inches of ground clearance; 32” of water fording
- 35” off-road tires
- Drive Mode selector; featuring Auto, Tow, Mud/Sand, Rock, Snow, Sport, Baja, Custom and Valet

This year, however, it will be the Mopar ‘25 RAM 1500 RHO.
