2026 Dodge Charger Daytona Performance Modes

Published on Jun 15, 2026 by Jim Glover Creative Team

Not long ago, Dodge announced it was discontinuing both of its iconic muscle cars — the Charger and the Challenger. But it didn’t take long for Dodge to completely flip the script by reintroducing one of these nameplates in the form of the all-electric 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona. Electric vehicle doubters were quickly proven wrong, as well, as the new model is capable of generating a monstrous 670 horsepower alongside 627 pound-feet of torque, and getting from 0–60 miles per hour in just 3.3 seconds.

Today we wanted to shine a light on the different performance modes and features that the vehicle offers, enabling you to optimize your Charger for exactly the type of driving you want when you want it.

Core Performance Drive Modes

The 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona provides several drive modes that can be engaged to automatically tune the sports car’s performance to exactly what you need.

  • Sport Mode. Pressing the Sport Mode button will instantly sharpen throttle response, firm up the steering feel, and recalibrate the standard mechanical limited-slip differential. This creates a tighter connection between the driver and the road, giving you maximum cornering confidence.
  • Track Mode. Available on the Daytona Scat Pack model, Track Mode maximizes vehicle performance on smooth, dry surfaces. The system sets the available Dual-Valve Adaptive Damping System to its firmest, most aggressive handling state, optimizing high-speed stability and body control.
  • Drag Mode. Drag Mode optimizes the standard all-wheel drive traction management and power delivery specifically for launching from a dead stop. It adjusts the weight transfer and powertrain behavior to help you achieve the absolute quickest quarter-mile times.
  • Wet/Snow Mode. You don’t have to pack your high-performance EV in the garage when it gets wet outside thanks to Wet/Snow Mode. It prevents wheel slip by perfectly equalizing torque distribution between the front and rear axles while intentionally softening the acceleration response to maintain secure traction over rain, ice, or snow.
  • Custom Mode. This mode gives you total control, enabling you to independently adjust distinct vehicle performance factors. You can mix and match your preferred levels of propulsion, traction, and steering feel to build a configuration tailored precisely to your style.

Track-Ready Race Options

As if those modes don’t already deliver enough excitement, the 2026 Charger Daytona Scat Pack model provides several standard, factory-engineered race options designed for track use.

  • Line Lock. This feature enables you to lock just the front brakes, which means you’ll be able to spin the rear wheels to clean and warm them up before launch – plus blow plenty of smoke as you nail the perfect burnout.
  • Launch Control. The perfect partner for Line Lock, this feature sets the torque at the wheels to manage wheel slip according to the surface conditions you’re dealing with, leading to incredible straight-line launches.
  • Race Prep. This feature allows you to choose between Drag Racing or Track Racing, optimizing battery temperature accordingly. This delivers speedy acceleration off the line for Drag Racing, or extra stamina for long laps with Track Racing.
  • Drift/Donut Mode. Lastly, this system utilizes rear axle-biased torque, specific damper settings, and also lets you choose between three selectable slip angles: Drift Min, Drift Max, and Donut Mode.
    • Drift Min. Maximum electronic intervention for slight slip.
    • Drift Max. Reduced traction control for larger slip.
    • Donut Mode. Minimized traction intervention for free rear wheel spin around rotating front wheels.
