It’s no secret that the Jeep Wrangler is one of the most iconic and recognizable vehicles ever built. As off-road and outdoorsy culture continues to grow in popularity across the automotive industry, the Wrangler’s legendary reputation only continues to rise. It’s hard to believe, but the 2026 model year is already upon us, and the latest Jeep Wrangler models have begun to arrive right here at Jim Glover CDJRF. Today we’re going to highlight the updates and what’s new for the 2026 Jeep Wrangler this year.
Open-Air Freedom Enhanced with Easier Door Removal
Without a doubt one of the most exciting updates for the 2026 model year, open-air freedom has been made more readily accessible than ever before. This is thanks to enhancements made to the door hinge system, namely replacing the Torx bolts used to secure the doors with a U-clip and sliding bolt mechanism. What this means for those of you who like to enjoy the open-air freedom inherent in your Jeep Wrangler, is that removing your doors will be both easier and quicker than it ever has been.
You will no longer need tools to remove the doors from your Jeep Wrangler. Instead, just pop the clip, slide the bolt, disconnect the power connections and then lift the door off. This might seem like a minor improvement on paper, but true enthusiasts know just how much of a game changer this is. You’ll be able to save time, reduce hassle and make adventures more spontaneous than ever.
Additional Changes & Enhancements
While the change to the doors was the big, exciting improvement for the 2026 model year, there are a few additional changes and enhancements to get excited about as well. For starters, steel bumpers and a front Warn winch are now going to be available on two-door Willys models. Secondly, a total of five new limited-edition exterior color options are going to be added to the palette. Things will start off with the new Reign option, which is a beautiful shade of purple. You won’t be able to choose one of the other four new options right away, but they’ll be released with late availability:
- Goldilocks
- Joose
- Earl Grey
- Tuscadero
Twelve 4 Twelve Celebration
Can you believe that 2026 marks 85 years since the birth of the Jeep brand? To celebrate their track record of trailblazing heritage with zero pauses and off seasons, the brand is kicking off a campaign they’ve dubbed Twelve 4 Twelve. The company will be releasing a dozen special edition vehicles over the next year, one per month starting in November. While the second model is scheduled to be unveiled this week, you can get a glimpse of the first model right here on this page.
This Wrangler – featuring the new Reign exterior color option – is the 2026 Jeep Wrangler Moab 392. It features a 6.4L V8 engine capable of generating 470 horsepower alongside 470 pound-feet of torque. It features 17” beadlock-capable wheels, a set of 35” all-terrain tires, an axle ratio of 4.56, a Selec-Trac transfer case, two-mode dual exhaust, a cold-air intake hood and even more.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the Jeep brand’s Operation Airdrop social media campaign, in which you’ll be able to see all of the incredible Twelve 4 Twelve models unveiled.
