2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee Adds Three New & Returning Trim Levels

Published on Oct 14, 2026 by Jim Glover Creative Team

While the Wrangler might be recognized as the preeminent off-road SUV, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has long represented the ultimate combination of everyday versatility and rugged capability. Last year, the iconic midsize crossover received a significant refresh, and this year Jeep is building on that by adding three trim levels to the lineup, each of which will sound familiar.

The legendary Trailhawk and Overland trim levels are making their triumphant return to the lineup, while Laredo Upland is an all-new trim level. Upland is a name that has been used previously though, including on the Grand Wagoneer and in the previous generation of the Grand Cherokee. Today, we’re going to dive into what each of these exciting new trim levels bring to the table for the 2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

“The Grand Cherokee is a cornerstone of the Jeep brand – one of the most recognized and trusted SUVs worldwide. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk uniquely embodies the go-anywhere, do-anything ethos of this brand. [...] For Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, this model serves a unique purpose in the lineup: to combine legitimate off-road capability and the premium, refined features that it’s been known for since its introduction 25 years ago.”
