There are many trim levels to choose from when shopping for a Jeep Wrangler, one of the most iconic vehicles in the automotive industry. For the 2026 model year, the selection includes 11 different trims, starting with the Sport and going all the way up to the Moab 392. But today, we’re going to isolate three specific trims: Sport, Willys, and Rubicon.
These three nameplates actually account for seven of the total trim levels available for 2026: Sport, Sport S, Willys, Willys ‘41 Rubicon, Rubicon X, and Willys 392. Each of these names bring a distinct personality and set of capabilities to the table, as well as differing price points. Today we’re going to help you figure out which is right for your driving style.
Jeep Wrangler Sport
Sport represents the base trim level as well as one step above it with the Sport S trim. It represents the classic Jeep Wrangler, with its timeless aesthetic, open-air freedom, and reliable four-wheel-drive capability. If you’re a fan of the Jeep Wrangler but aren’t that serious about off-roading, this is the best choice. It’s still more trail capable than the vast majority of vehicles out there, but you won’t be paying for heavy-duty hardware that you may never utilize.

Jeep Wrangler Willys
The next step above Sport S is the Willys, which combines retro styling with practical off-road upgrades. It’s a great choice if you’re more enthusiastic about off-roading, but is much more affordable than upgrading to Rubicon. The Willys ‘41, a military-themed aesthetic upgrade, is slated just under the Rubicon, leaving three other trims between these two Willys trims. The Willys 392, however, is actually the second trim from the top, higher than both Rubicon trims.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
That brings us lastly to what usually represents the top-of-the-line for Jeep Wrangler models, the Rubicon trims. Rubicon typically provides the very best that Wrangler has to offer, both in terms of off-road features and other content, like convenience and safety features. Rubicon X takes things even further, leaning into the landscape of luxury vehicles without sacrificing any of those capabilities. The only reason they’re not the top trims for 2026 is because they’ve been surpassed by the Willys 392 and the showstopping Moab 392.
