It’s no secret that one of the most recognizable and capable vehicles across the globe is the Jeep Wrangler, and that’s been the case for many years. In fact, the Wrangler has nearly been around for more than four decades, having revolutionized the game many times over throughout its legendary history. The current and fourth generation kicked off in 2017, which means we’re still likely a couple of years away from a total redesign, but the engineer did make a few adjustments for the 2025 model year that we’ll address here today. With a release date of the end of the year, the 2025 Jeep Wrangler isn’t that far away, so let’s give you the rundown on what makes it tick.
The Jeep Wrangler is such an incredible vehicle that not much needed to change for the new model year, but as we mentioned there were a few key updates that we wanted to mention. For starters, both power locks and power windows are now standard across the whole Wrangler lineup, which might not seem like much but is a pretty big upgrade. In addition, there’s a new military olive drab-inspired exterior color option available called ‘41 Green. Finally, a new function on the vehicle’s mobile app can now utilize the available Active Cabin Ventilation feature to make the cabin more comfortable before actually getting inside.
As one of the most capable vehicles ever built – period – there are plenty of exciting technical specs and features that we want to shine a light on so you can see why it’s such an incredible option in the traditional SUV space. For starters, let’s go over the available powertrain options, of which there are four with each one being great for different types of drivers. The standard powertrain is a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine tethered to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s capable of generating 270 horsepower alongside 295 pound-feet of torque.
The second option offers very similar power at 285 hp and 260 lb-ft. of torque, but the 3.6L V6 engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission so it offers something very different at the same time. For those of you who want true power, you can upgrade instead to the 6.4L V8 engine, which offers 470 hp and 470 lb-ft. of torque and once again features the automatic transmission.
The fourth and final option is the 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain, which combines a 2.0L turbocharged engine with a pair of electric motors, the same automatic transmission and a high-voltage battery pack. Altogether, the Wrangler 4xe manages to achieve 49 MPGe with its 21 miles of all-electric driving range.
In addition to the powertrain, here are a few other exciting specifications and features we wanted to highlight:
We’ve only scratched the surface of everything that the 2025 Jeep Wrangler has to offer. With some fantastic trim levels like Willys and Rubicon, you know you can pack your Wrangler full of incredible features, design cues and technologies, far too many to fit into one blog. So, if you have any questions about the Wrangler, feel free to give us a call here at the sales desk.
