A lot of people think that the Jeep Gladiator introduced in 2020 was the brand’s first pickup truck, but that’s not the truth. In fact, it’s not even the first Jeep Gladiator. The Willys Jeep 4x4 Truck was a pickup on the brand’s lineup between 1947 and 1965, and it was just the first of several trucks to grace the lineup. The first Gladiator was introduced in 1963 and ran until 1987. The most recent pickup on the lineup, the Jeep Comanche, was still in production in 1992.
So, it’s no surprise some people forgot, as it wasn’t until 28 years later that Jeep re-entered the pickup truck game with the Jeep Gladiator. This year, the 2025 Jeep Gladiator received some new upgrades, so let’s dive into them and some of the other things that make it such a great option in the midsize pickup truck segment.
Having just been introduced for the 2020 model year, the Gladiator is still quite new, so not a ton needed to change this year. Even still, the Gladiator has received a few updates that have us pretty excited. For starters, it’s now offered exclusively with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission as well as standard power locks and windows. These might seem relatively minor, but they’re definitely exciting things to have standard across the board in every trim level.
In addition to these standardizations, a pair of new exterior color options have been added to the palette of choices you have. Fathom Blue and ‘41, the latter of which is inspired by military olive drab, are these two new options. The final new upgrade this year is the addition of Active Cabin Ventilation as an available feature. This new feature gives customers the ability to “pre-condition” the cabin of their vehicle by using the Jeep Connect mobile app. It’s essentially the opposite of a remote starter, allowing you to cool off the cabin instead of heating it up.
Now that we’ve gone over everything that’s new in the 2025 Jeep Gladiator, it’s time to dive into some of the most exciting technical specs and highlighted features found in the pickup truck.
The list above includes some standard features and others that are available on certain trim levels. If you’re interested in learning more about what comes on a certain trim level, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us right here at the Jim Glover CDJRF sales desk. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you in the driver’s seat of a brand-new Jim Gladiator.
